Catch & Release is great but I do occasionally enjoy keeping fish to fry up in camp when healthy populations exist for sustainable harvest. The gutting, examining of stomach contents, cooking and eating all make for a full experience. Each licensed NY fisherman can keep a daily limit of five trout species within open season (brook, brown, rainbow and hydrids like splake). My group of 7 only kept 4 fish in 4 days but all purchased licenses that proudly support New York State Department of Environmental Conservation outdoor activities. #woodsman #adklife #sportsman #troutfishing #canoecamping #stregiswilderness #brooktrout #autumn #getoutside #survival #bushcraft #natureintoaction
