Amphibian Crossing

As we receive the first warm rainy nights of the spring season amphibians begin to move from their upland wintering locations downhill to their mating and egg laying vernal pools.  In human populated suburban areas this can mean disaster if a road crossing is within course.  To avoid extirpating the population we setup road crossing and help them to cross safely.

If you find amphibian movement, join other citizen scientists and post your findings to Amphibian Tracker to share information about the annual movement of spotted salamanders, wood frogs and spring peepers to their breeding ponds across North America.
