Tree Identification & Tagging – Eagle Scout Project

Looking for a great way to tag trees without expensive equipment? Here is a method to hand-make tags that doubles as an educational experience and project that the community will enjoy long-term. Without a naturalist to guide you and interpret the landscape, these tags allow for free-choice learning as one explorers on their own and leaves with newfound nature knowledge and wildlife wisdom!

The tags are made of polished aluminum and allow for engraving with a metal stamping hammer and plate and a 6mm number and letter stamping set. They are attached to the tree with a 2″ rustproof aluminum nail or screw and metal coated wire. Insert the nail or screw 1″ and leave 1″ exposed. The tree will compartmentalize and heal the would around it so no need to worry.
